Trusting in the God of the Great Unknown
In the present, we are overwhelmed with gratitude when we bask in the beauty of what we see and know to be good and true. We reflect on our lives with thankfulness because we have seen and experienced the goodness of God. Yet what is beyond what our eyes can see and what our lives presently experience? Infinite wonders and expectations of the good things that may come or the possibility of pending trials and difficulties? That is the question. Does it give you peace our cause you anxiety?
Whatever the future holds, I can testify who holds my future. God has been there and He is my trustworthy and faithful Guide who will walk with me every step of the way. His peace He gives to still my anxious heart. I cling to my faith and trust in the God who leads me through the valleys and summits of my life. Though I deeply trust my Lord...do you think I still worry and get anxious sometimes? Of course I do! I am human.
God uses the grand adventures in our lives -- good and bad -- to transform us, change us, sift us, grow us, challenge us and strengthen us in our walk of faith. He uses them to draw us to Himself. We either resist or surrender this personalized work of His Hands. His intentions are good.
Take a moment to pause and reflect. Who do you trust? Whose understanding do you lean on? Who do you acknowledge? It is your choice. Need answers to decisions your are trying to make? Is your future unclear? Hear the truths of Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
Amen. I need not say more.
