In the present, we are overwhelmed with gratitude when we bask in the beauty of what we see and know to be good and true. We reflect on our lives with thankfulness because we have seen and experienced the goodness of God.

Betrayal. It hurts. It can make you question getting close to people. Strangers, friends, or family. However, it presents itself, the vessel in which the revelation came, it can catch you blindsided.

I witnessed the most spectacular sunset on Lake Michigan this past Saturday night. Gazing at the sunset created by God’s meticulous brushstrokes and watching it drift into the horizon, I was reminded that it is the Son of God who holds my heart and my future.

What is the source?

Think on that............

Do you derive your identity from it?

Is it a person you have a relationship with?

We read in Genesis that thorns and thistles were a result of sin entering the world. Genesis 3:18 reads, “It (the ground) will grow thorns and thistles for you, though you will eat of the ground.”

I'm a believer but I still stumble.

It's the endless cycle of picking myself up and continuing down this road with Christ.

He's by my side.

He never leaves me.

Don’t be afraid to step out into the unknown. That first step is always the hardest. The waters may be deep but taking that courageous first step will catapult you into the realm of an unexpected new experience.
